This One Habit will Help You Earn More

Do you ever feel as though you are CONSUMING a lot of information...but not RETAINING much of it?

You read, watch, skim, pour over, scroll, scan blogs, training videos, emails, newsletters, articles, books, ebooks. You are soaking in all the information you possibly can about how to build your business, get more clients, brand yourself, etc.

And yes, sometimes you run across a helpful nugget that ends up being practical and changes the way you approach your business. But most of all that info fades into the distant past, never to be seen, used, or heard of again! Do you feel me?

What if I could show you a way to make the information STICK and share how you could get PAID each time you used this method? Because you actually can. The trick is every time you read, watch, or hear something new, ask yourself, “How would I explain this material to someone else?” And don’t just ask yourself that question--DO it!  (But first, try implementing it yourself. And if it works for you, then share it.) In each piece of content you consume, try to find the one thing you can implement.

Once you put the principle in action (and if it works), get behind a camera and film yourself explaining the material. Then use that as content for your business by posting it to YouTube, Facebook, and your blog. Also send the content to your email list.

Whenever you do this, it forces you to pay more attention to what you’re reading. It also puts you in a different perspective--you’re really trying to figure how to break down what you’re learning into the simplest, most helpful, most practical version that it can be broken down into.

Neurologists and education experts have long known that when you’re forced to put something in your own words, it increases your comprehension AND your retention of it. We retain 90 percent of information we learn when we teach it or implement it. That's because when we implement or teach, we instantly make mistakes. Try it for yourself. As soon as you run into difficulty and start to make mistakes, you have to learn how to correct the mistake. This forces your brain to concentrate. Cool right?

Well, now you know the secret to not only coming to a deeper understanding of everything you learn and making it stick, but also to making the info work FOR you…firing the engine of your business and driving you to greater profits.

To summarize:

  1. Commit to finding the one thing you can implement in everything you learn.
  2. If it works, then teach it and turn it into valuable content that you can use in your business.

Now go implement 😉
