This post is about women, money, progress, and securing our rightful place in the world.
Here’s what I know for sure about money:
- It is always possible to earn more than you currently do.
- Your beliefs determine your bank account. You will earn as much as you believe you are worthy of having.
- You are worthy of having more. You may not believe it right now, but it’s already true.
- There is probably a conversation (asking a client to pay an overdue invoice, asking your employer for a raise, etc.) that you’ve been putting off because you’re scared. But you need to advocate for yourself and speak up. Nobody can do this for you. Be your own champion.
- Just because you’ve struggled with money in the past, doesn’t mean you always will. People change. You can change.
If you have the skill set to earn $50,000 in your business, you are also able to make mindset shifts to earn $100,000 in your business. The mindset shifts are necessary because what got you here is not going to get you there. Then, with the mindset shifts, you can calibrate from $100k to a million.

Following are four strategies/mindset shifts you need to change to get yourself to $1,000,000.
1. You feel like an impostor.
You don’t feel good enough. This often manifests in undercharging for your services/products and you over deliver. This affects your earning potential. You procrastinate, hide or you don't even try in the first place because you don't want to fail publicly. 70 percent of adults suffer from impostor syndrome. One remedy is to take action first and your thoughts and feelings will catch up.
I challenge you to double your prices. The next time someone approaches you, on a sales call, someone emails you about a product or service you offer, just tell quote them a price that is at least double what you have been charging and see what happens. My guess is that you're going to find out that you've been leaving a lot of money on the table because you think you are not enough and I'm here to tell you absolutely are.
2. You're pretending to be boring.
In reality, you are interesting--you have things to say, you have opinions and you should say them. Stop hiding and stop trying to do things like everyone else. If you are like everyone else, you don't stand out right so your clients are going to keep scrolling. The average attention span is eight seconds--that's how long you have be outrageous.
Stand out and be who you really are because that's what is unique. That's your superpower and what you need to do is discover your compelling message. What is your big message? If you don't know what it is, that's what you need to find out. It has to do with who you are, your identity, what excites you, what you're into, what will grab the attention of your potential clients. So say something that matters and say it boldly. Express your opinions, say who you stand for, state what your mission, etc.
3. You’re selling too many things.
You keep yourself very busy launching thing after thing; however, if you look at some of the big influences such as Marie Forleo, they earn millions of dollars from ONE offer. I challenge you to decide what your main thing is and then go all in on that. What happens when you're doing too much is you don’t become known for anything so people don’t really know what you do and who you are.
You need one amazing offer that is scalable. You could scale it by hiring a team or by creating an intellectual property system such as a course to deliver it. It needs to be a leveraged offer. Make a very big promise and then deliver on it to show people the transformation that you can create for them.
This applies even if you are multi-passionate. I also have multiple interests; however, we do not need to earn money from every interest and every skill set that we possess—at least not all at the same time.
4. You cannot do it alone.
You need a team--a squad that enables you to work normal hours. They bring their talents and skill sets to your vision. No one is good at every single business function so allow your team to do what they are good at. And, no, you are not a special snowflake and therefore only you can do the magic that you do. You are mostly a trapped, tired and miserable snowflake because you are working too much. And guess what? You are doing your clients a disservice because you cannot serve them as well as you would with a squad to help you.
Think you’re not ready to hire help? I challenge you to, at a minimum, hire a personal assistant at $15 to $20 per an hour, four hours per week. You can begin by giving them things off your plate, even if it is the dishes, the laundry or if it's creating a landing page. Consider it practice because, in order to be a seven-figure entrepreneur, you must learn how to delegate, lead and manage.
One book that I can’t WAIT to read is, We Should All Be Millionaires: A Woman’s Guide to Earning More, Building Wealth, and Gaining Economic Power. I already ordered it and I’m literally counting down the days until it arrives! Cannot. Wait.
Do yourself a favor and get yourself this book.
What do you believe about money? Leave a comment telling me something powerful, positive, and purposeful that you believe about money. Or, something that you want to believe starting today.
I believe that, when women earn their own money (and a lot of it), they change their lives and the lives of those who love them.
